Project description
Pressure vessels have been used in the industry for a long time. In the beginning, they were developed from metallic material but as the demands from the industries become more challenging, the implementation of new material is needed. Hence, the composite material is the answer.
My research will be focused on Carbon-Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) of pressure vessels. The challenge remains on how to incorporate the aging effects on the available mathematical model. This is important because there is a need to create new procedures to define the residual strength of CFRP pressure vessels, which leads to determine its long term reliability. Even though it is widely known that the failure of a composite material is occurred when the fibre has break, it is still a tedious tasks to model the matrix’s effect during the damage evolution process. Finally, by combining this effect with statistical method, acoustic emission testing, and slow burst tests, it is possible to provide a guideline to determine the long-term reliability of the existing pressure vessels or even the new one.

Personal note
I am just a simple guy who has been living in his dream in Europe since 2014. Thanks to the European Union who gives the funding up until this point that I have become one of the Marie –Curie Fellows. I hope that I can give something back to the EU by working on the “Fibremod” project. Hence, I am going to give my best performance for the next three years.
Since I was a kid, outside activity has always become my favourite things to do, such as sports, hiking, running, etc. Also, I couldn’t live without music, which has become my solitude to rejuvenate my mind and soul from the hectic daily life. Besides that, I enjoy watching movies in the cinema as well, especially, science-fiction stuffs, thriller, and horror. Last but not least, I am an open-minded person, thus I would love to meet new people and share new stories, culture, idea, etc.
